I've discovered some astonishingly cool things in the past few weeks. Here's an abridged list:

1. Flickr. If you visit this site and are like most people, you likely clicked on the irresistibly cute picture of Mia Villiard I posted last time. If so, you found yourself transported to my Flickr photostream, which is a continuously evolving photo weblog that's part of a whole collection of other people's continuously evolving photo weblogs. I have found myself spending way more time than I thought I would just clicking through random searches on Flickr, and I encourage you to do the same. It's weird and amazing the number of ideas you get from looking at other people's pictures. Even better, new search engines are being created for Flickr, adding to the complexity of each search and to the richness of the site's experience. I can't really hold thoughts in my head too well right now (Paxil scrip ran out four days ago), but suffice to say that I think the idea behind Flickr is great, and I think this is something that's going to change the way people interact with the world.

2. Bobak's Sausage Company. Simply the finest store in North America, I'd have to imagine. It's actually a supermarket, but it's the highest-quality, least-expensive supermarket I've ever been in. Want fresh fish? They've got salmon for like $3 a pound, and I was in there: it was the best-smelling fish case I've ever smelled (i.e., it had no smell). Want steaks? They've got flank steaks for like $4 a pound, which try to even find a flank steak in another supermarket in this area. Want poultry? They've got whole ducks! Want bread? There's a bakery there and they make some of the tastiest pastries I've had lately. Want booze? They've got all the staples, plus an entire aisle of vodka featuring Bison brand for $13 a bottle. They've got everything a normal supermarket has, plus a lot of unusual and great Eastern-European stuff, and it's all cheaper than I've seen anywhere except Aldi's; and full disclosure I've never seen the inside of an Aldi's because I don't like bacteria in my food. It's also about 5 minutes from where I'll be living in...let's see...45 more days now.

3. The new link. Click it over there on the left, and be patient--it's a big Java script that has to load up. Once you get on, I think you'll find it surprisingly addictive. Especially if you have a trendy name.

4. Dog porn. Sorry, just making sure you were paying attention.
